Sydney CTO community (SCTO)
Sydney Startup Power Group (SCTO) is an exclusive community of startup CTOs and technology leaders committed to supporting one another in an era of emerging technologies.
Platforms:
Whatsapp group: meetup schedules, calling for help or offering opportunities, welcoming new members.
LinkedIn group: discussions, ideas, links, debates.
Our group is closed, capped by 50 members and all communication within the group is confidential.
Children accompanied by you are welcome at our meetups to support parents in tech and innovation.
A. Goals
The primary goal of SCTO is to foster collaboration by sharing ideas, overcoming technology challenges, and generating valuable CTO opportunities for members.
We meet occasionally in Sydney CBD, with the aim of establishing regular weekly meetups.
These meetups are intentionally held during work hours usually on Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Each meeting includes a round-robin discussion, where every participant can present a topic and receive ideas and suggestions from the group.
B. Membership
To qualify for membership, individuals must:
(1) Reside in New South Wales (NSW).

(2) Have experience as a CTO / CTO co-founder of at least one technology-related startup.
---- OR ----:
(3) Have experience as a fractional CTO

- Must be able to put parentheses, sensibly, on the above logical conditions (1), (2) and (3) 😊 😊 😊
Exceptions: Expats who previously lived in NSW and relocated to operate an NSW-origin company / business acticity, may also qualify for membership.
Each member will be listed on the SCTO Membership Page, which includes:
- Their name, business details, and contact information.
- A brief summary of what they are looking for (e.g., investment, partnerships, hiring, business growth).
- A link to their business website or LinkedIn profile.
Please note the group page is private and confidential, only members are allowed to access and we strictly ask not to share it
C. Rules
To maintain a high-quality and valuable experience for all members, the following rules apply:
1. Privacy & Confidentiality
All group communication is strictly private and confidential. Sharing messages, discussions, or member details outside the group is not permitted.
2. Engagement & Activity
Members must engage in online discussions or meetups at least once a month.
Inactive members will be removed to make space for new prospects.
3. Self-Promotion & Spam
Members may share their business updates, events, or opportunities only if they are relevant and valuable to the group.
Excessive self-promotion, unsolicited pitches, or irrelevant advertising is not allowed.
Members should focus on adding value through knowledge sharing, problem-solving, and meaningful contributions.
Monetisation of the group is not allowed, including not by the group founder (Eran Ben-Shahar).
4. Professionalism & Respect
All discussions should be professional and constructive.
Harassment, discrimination, or any form of disrespectful behaviour will result in removal from the group.
Please avoid blank posts aka links without a personal message or irrelevant content. Politics or any type is not allowed.
